SIX SIGMA Greenbelt Certification Training

About the Course:

Participants will learn to apply the process, methods, and tools of ASI's powerful SIX SIGMA program. The course will introduce all of the key elements of SIX SIGMA with emphasis on the on the core methods and tools that are important in their own right and offered by ASI as standalone programs including Project Management, Forming High Powered Teams, Customer focused Quality Function Deployment, Pugh Concept Generation and Selection, TRIZ, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke), Design of Experiments (DOE), and a complete repertoire of Control methods. Unique Project Review methods are also introduced.

The highly interactive training activities will help participants learn how to improve engineered products and processes, business processes, and services.

Learning Objectives

Participants will understand the entire SIX SIGMA process, the power of SIX SIGMA, and how SIX SIGMA links with Design for Six Sigma. Participants will be able to apply:

  • The core methodologies of SIX SIGMA
  • Methods and Tools for Planning and Managing Projects
  • Contemporary processes for conducting Project Reviews
  • The rich array of methods for developing an imaginative understanding of the Voice of the Customer
  • Methods for building the QFD House of Quality to translate the Voice of the Customer into the Voice of the Business
  • Methods for Measuring and Analyzing the Current State
  • Methods for calculating the Cost of Quality and Sigma Levels
  • Methods for Improving and Controlling the Process
  • The fundamental methods and tools including
    • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Generating and Selecting Concept Designs for Products and Processes
    • Measurement System Analysis (Gage R & R)
    • Design of Experiments (DOE) to improve performance of products and processes
    • A rich array of confirmation and implementation methods

Who Should Attend?

Individuals from all disciplines including Practioneers, Managers, Executive Champions, Deployment Champions, Project Champions, and all others involved in any aspect of improving engineered products and processes, business processes, and services that want to be Certified as SIX SIGMA Green Belts.

Benefits & Features

Participants will learn how to:

  • Develop and manage linkages between SIX SIGMA Projects and DFSS Projects
  • Effectively manage SIX SIGMA Projects (a super workshop for Managers, Executive Champions, Deployment Champions, and Project Champions)
  • How to apply the SIX SIGMA methodology (This one week workshop is derived from the four week training curriculum for SIX SIGMA Black Belts)
  • Determine when SIX SIGMA is the best methodology to utilize
  • Prevent errors from propagating downstream to internal and external customers
  • Shorten schedules and reduce costs of improving products and processes
  • Calculate the Cost of Poor Quality
  • Calculate the financial benefit of a Project

Course Outline

The outline for the course is provided by the DMAIC Phases of SIX SIGMA:

DEFINE Project: Contemporary Project Planning methods and tools for developing Objectives, Targets, Milestones, and Resources; Forming High Powered Teams; and Financial Gains

MEASURE Customer Needs & Current State: A rich array of customer listening methods and the first House of Quality
